nanotech+material week frankfurt

Technologies of the future:
the first 'nanotech+material week frankfurt' to unify four high-grade events in November

'Nanotechnologieforum Hessen', 'NanoSolutions', 'Material Vision' and ‘Chemical Nanotechnology Talks’ to form a central platform for high-tech subjects

To unite and create a central platform for manufacturers, product developers and potential users of nanotechnology and new materials – this is the aim of the joint event of the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Transport and State Development, G+J Expomedia Events GmbH, Messe Frankfurt and DECHEMA. Therefore, 'Nanotechnologieforum Hessen' (22/23.11.2007), 'NanoSolutions – Leading European Fair for Nano Applications (21-23.11.2007), 'Material Vision' (22/23.11.2007) and Chemical Nanotechnology Talks (20-21.11.2007) will be held in parallel in Frankfurt am Main for the first time. Under the umbrella name, 'nanotech+material week frankfurt', these four events will form a unique platform for future-oriented technologies at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre and thus offer additional value four times over for both exhibitors and visitors: while the trade fairs provide information about the latest products and technologies, the conferences, lectures and discussion forums will offer in-depth insights into a variety of specialist topics. 'nanotech+material week frankfurt' will bring together experts from leading companies, research establishments and institutes with potential users, as well as promote the interdisciplinary exchange of ideas and information on an international plane.

The Hessian Minister of Economics, Dr. Alois Rhiel, sees this as confirmation of the nanotech strategy of the Hessian State Government: "Holding these four renowned events at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre demonstrates yet again the leading position held by Hessen in the field of nano and material technologies. The result is a leading event for nano and material technologies in the heart of Europe that will send out an international signal. 'nanotech+material week frankfurt' will continue the success of 'Nanotechnologieforum Hessen' and strengthen Frankfurt as a trade-fair venue and a centre of industry in the long term."

Christoph Rénevier, General Manager of G+J Expomedia Events GmbH: "Moving 'NanoSolutions' to Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre not only reflects the wishes of the sector for a central European trade fair for nano applications but is also proof of the growing economic significance of the relatively young nanotechnology field. Together with Material Vision, the annual 'Nanotechnologieforum Hessen' congress of the Hessian Ministry of Economics and the ‘Chemical Nanotechnology Talks’ of DECHEMA, we will create a central platform for manufacturers, researchers, product developers and (potential) users of nanotechnologies and new materials."

Dr. Michael Peters, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt: "Material Vision presents the latest developments from all materials-relevant industries – which includes nanotechnology. The three high-grade nano events of our partners not only substantially expand the range of products and services covered for both exhibitors and visitors but also bring about a purposeful concentration of strengths. With Material Vision, we aim to promote the use of new materials in intelligent products and thus open up the potential of the materials industry to new markets. This is also the aim of our partners and, together, we will achieve our goal even faster. With 'nanotech+ material week frankfurt', we will give future-oriented technologies a long-term perspective here in Frankfurt and, with the new concept, establish a leading international event for the sector."

Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Iden, head of DECHEMA working party on Chemical Nanotechnology and chairman of the scientific committee for Chemical Nanotechnology Talks VIII (CNT) as well as head of physics in BASF AG: „Coordination of CNT with three other events focused on materials and nanotechnology was what the nanotech community wanted. That became evident when we asked the members of DECHEMA’s Subject Division Nanotechnology. We contribute to this common event with our traditional CNT and with actual themes under the headline „Energising a Sustainable Future“. Energy conversion and storage, environmental themes as separation techniques for impurities and CO2 as well as new materials for a sustainable development and new analytical methods are on the agenda this year. We are optimistic to organising a joint event with a surplus for each visitor.”

The 4th 'Nanotechnologieforum Hessen' on 22 and 23 November 2007 will be the international congress highlight of 'nanotech+material week frankfurt'. Under the motto "What’s next for international nano-markets", the congress will focus on specialist subjects, such as nano-energy, and business topics, such as the perspectives of international markets. Organised by the Hessian Ministry of Economics, this specialist event is the main networking meeting for decision makers from business, science and society with an interest in nanotechnology. As a platform for technology providers and users, the congress is also the ideal shop window and gateway to the booming European nano market for international trade visitors. Organised by G+J Expomedia Events, NanoSolutions is the leading European trade fair for the nano-business. Last year's event was equally successful as NanoSolutions 2005 and thus underscored its position as the central, all-embracing market for current nano-applications. The aim of the event is to inform and to inspire the manufacturing sector as a whole and, in particular, small to medium-sized companies, with regard to the broad spectrum of potential applications and competitive advantages of nanotechnology. Thus, as in the past, NanoSolutions 2007 will be characterised by a wide-ranging programme of product presentations, lectures and intensive discussions between nano-companies and (potential) users from the various sectors. This year, around 150 German and international exhibitors are expected to welcome in the region of 3,000 – 4,000 visitors (primarily decision makers from the various area of application) to NanoSolutions.Further information at: http://www.nanosolutions-frankfurt.de.

On the occasion of NanoSolutions IRC Hessen/Rheinland-Pfalz organises with the support of the Innovation Relay Centre (IRC) Network the international Brokerage Event “NanoMatch” in the field of nanotechnology. It is a forum for European companies and research organisations in the nano-business to meet enterprises, scientists and stakeholders for discussing research and technological developments, products, applications as well as ways of cooperating. Additionally, NanoMatch is opened up to partner searches for FP7 RTD programmes. Information and registration: www.nanomatch.ircnet.lu

Material Vision – Materials for Product Development, Design and Architecture, International Trade Fair and Conference – was launched by Messe Frankfurt and its partner, the German Design Council (Rat für Formgebung), in 2003. The trade fair presents modern materials and material technologies in the pre-production stage and is aimed specifically at product developers, industrial designers and architects. At the conference, world-class designers and architects discuss the latest material trends in the fields of product development and architecture. Material Vision 2005 was attended by around 2,000 visitors from 22 countries and 80 exhibitors who made their presentations on around 2,500 square metres of exhibition space.Further information at: http://www.material-vision.messefrankfurt.com.

Chemical Nanotechnology Talks (CNT) are an event for international participants, stressing chemical nanotechnology. Every year there is a focus on a particular theme. CNT are organised since 2000 by DECHEMA Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, Frankfurt am Main. This year’s focus lies on “Energising a sustainable future” including themes like energy and environment, construction and living. Lectures, held by national and international experts and the opportunity for especially young scientists to present their work and research on posters form a well-balanced conference programme. Recent years experiences show that decision makers from industry and academic institutions like to visit CNT - also because of ample time scheduled for discussion with other participants during coffee breaks and the poster party.
